I2C is a widely used protocol which allows to send small amount of data to different ICs (Sensors, memories, expanders) connected to the same bus. In order to enhance I2C, MIPI has standardized I3C as a evolution of the I2C protocol, enabling higher communication speed (up to 12.5MHz), dynamic address allocation and in-band interrupts (IBI).
In this section, participants will be introduced to the MIPI I3C protocol and key enhancements vs I2C will be discussed.
