The DSP56858EVM is designed as a versatile Digital Signal Controller, (DSC), development card for developing real-time software and hardware products to support a new generation of applications in digital and wireless messaging, digital answering machines, feature phones, modems, and digital cameras. The DSP56858EVM demonstrates the abilities of the DSP56858 device and provides a hardware tool to develop applications using the DSP56858.
The DSP56858EVM is designed to:
- Introduce new users to the features and benefits of the 56800E architecture through use of the provided tools and examples
- Serve as a platform for real-time software development. The tool suite enables the user to develop and simulate routines, download the software to on-chip or on-board RAM, run it, and debug it.
- Serve as a platform for hardware development by enabling connection of external hardware peripherals. The chip?s on-board peripherals may be disabled, allowing the user to reassign any and all of the DSP's peripherals.
The evaluation module board is part of a kit that includes a DSP56858 part, a 16-bit stereo codec, USB 1.1/2.0 interface, external memory and a daughter card expansion interface with connectors for signal monitoring and user feature expandability.
