The NXP® 12XS2 eXtreme switch family consists of very low RDSON devices in single or dual high side configuration to replace electromechanical relays or discrete devices in power management applications and DC motor control.
- Designed for harsh environments and includes self-recovery features
- Suitable for loads with high inrush current, as well as motors and all types of resistive and inductive loads
- Programming, control and diagnostics are implemented via the serial peripheral interface
- A dedicated parallel input is available for alternate and pulse-width modulation control of the output
- Packaged in a power enhanced 16-lead PQFN, 12x12 mm package

- Operating voltage range from 6.0 V to 27 V, with sleep current < 5.0 μA, extended mode down to 4.5V
- 40 A continuous current capability
- PWM capability up to 60 kHz, with a duty cycle from 5% to 100%
- Slew-rate control with an external capacitor
- Overcurrent and overtemperature protection, undervoltage shutdown, and fault reporting
- Reverse battery protection
- Gate drive signal for external low side N-channel MOSFET with protection features
- Output current monitoring
- Temperature feedback
MC33982/984/988
- Operating voltage range of 6.0 V to 20 V, with sleep current < 5.0 μA, extended mode from 4.0 V to 28 V
- Current capability up to 40 A steady state
- 8.0 MHz 16-bit 3.3 V and 5.0 V SPI control and status reporting with daisy-chain capability
- Programmable overcurrent trip level and overtemperature protection, undervoltage shutdown, and fault reporting
- Enhanced -16 V reverse battery protection
- Output current monitoring
- Watchdog and configurable Fail-safe mode by hardware
