Arm SystemReady is a compliance-based certification program that is part of Arm’s Project Cassini initiative for the edge and IoT sector that aims to create a seamless cloud native experience with standards, security and reference implementations.
SystemReady provides a formal set of compute platform definitions to cover a range of systems from the cloud-to-IoT and -edge, helping software 'just work' seamlessly across a vibrant, diverse ecosystem of Arm-based hardware.
Arm SystemReady applies to a broad set of devices in the datacenter server, edge and IoT ecosystems. One of the key benefits of SystemReady is to ensure the easy deployment and maintenance of standard firmware interfaces, thus reducing the cost of supporting multiple software platforms. It ensures interoperability with generic off-the-shelf operating systems and workloads to work seamlessly across Arm-based platforms and eliminates the need for customer engineered firmware.

At NXP, we are proud to announce that we are Arm SystemReady certified. The high-performance i.MX 8M family of applications processors is SystemReady IR certified, making NXP the first company with a certified System Ready IR solution for connected edge devices. NXP-designed platforms i.MX 8M Plus EVK, i.MX 8MQuad EVK, i.MX 8M Nano EVK and i.MX 8M Mini EVKB are now certified SystemReady IR. NXP-designed platform LX2160ARDB, LS1046AFRWY and LS1043ARDB from the Layerscape processor family are also certified SystemReady ES for embedded servers.
Our goal is to empower our customers with the confidence that the operating systems and application software ‘‘just works” on our platforms, thus allowing developers to focus on innovation and ensuring a simplified and faster time to market.
"At NXP, collaboration is our way of working and initiatives like Project Cassini and System Ready align with our approach"
